This Acceptable Use Policy explains how users are permitted to use Tailors Book.

The purpose of this policy is to protect Tailors Book, its users, customer information and the wider community from misuse, fraud, abuse and security threats.

This policy forms part of the Tailors Book Terms and Conditions.

1. Permitted Use

You may use Tailors Book to:

  • Manage your tailoring business
  • Manage customer information
  • Record customer measurements
  • Manage clothing orders
  • Create invoices
  • Record payments
  • Track business activities
  • Manage your tailoring operations
  • Perform other legitimate activities supported by the platform

Your use must comply with applicable laws and regulations.

2. Prohibited Activities

You must not use Tailors Book to:

A. Commit Illegal Activities

You must not use the platform to facilitate or participate in:

  • Fraud
  • Theft
  • Money laundering
  • Identity theft
  • Cybercrime
  • Unauthorised financial transactions
  • Extortion
  • Harassment
  • Threats
  • Any other unlawful activity

B. Attack or Compromise the Platform

You must not:

  • Attempt to hack Tailors Book
  • Bypass authentication
  • Circumvent security controls
  • Scan or attack systems without authorisation
  • Exploit vulnerabilities
  • Conduct denial-of-service attacks
  • Introduce malware
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised administrative access
  • Interfere with platform infrastructure

If you discover a potential security vulnerability, you should report it responsibly to Tailors Book rather than attempting to exploit it.

C. Upload Malicious Content

You must not upload or distribute:

  • Viruses
  • Malware
  • Ransomware
  • Trojans
  • Spyware
  • Malicious scripts
  • Other harmful software

D. Abuse Customer Information

You must not use Tailors Book to unlawfully:

  • Collect personal information
  • Sell personal information
  • Share customer information without a lawful basis
  • Access another person's information without authorisation
  • Impersonate customers
  • Misuse customer measurements or records

You are responsible for ensuring that your processing of customer information complies with applicable data-protection requirements.

E. Harassment and Abuse

You must not use Tailors Book to facilitate:

  • Threats
  • Harassment
  • Stalking
  • Bullying
  • Hate-based abuse
  • Intimidation
  • Non-consensual disclosure of private information

F. Fraudulent Accounts

You must not:

  • Create accounts using false identities for fraudulent purposes
  • Impersonate another person or business
  • Use another person's account without permission
  • Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions
  • Provide deliberately false registration information

G. Unauthorised Access

You must not attempt to access:

  • Another user's account
  • Another business's data
  • Administrative systems
  • Restricted areas
  • Server infrastructure
  • Databases
  • Application source code

unless you have explicit authorisation.

H. Circumvent Service Restrictions

You must not attempt to bypass:

  • Subscription limits
  • User limits
  • Storage limits
  • Security restrictions
  • Feature restrictions
  • Authentication mechanisms
  • Payment controls

3. Responsible Use of Customer Data

Businesses using Tailors Book should collect only information reasonably necessary for their operations.

You should:

  • Keep customer information accurate
  • Protect customer information
  • Limit access to authorised staff
  • Remove information when no longer required where appropriate
  • Respond appropriately to customer privacy requests
  • Comply with applicable data-protection requirements

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission identifies principles including lawful and transparent processing, purpose limitation, data minimisation, storage limitation and appropriate security.

4. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security over your account.

You should:

  • Use a strong password
  • Avoid sharing account credentials
  • Use trusted devices
  • Log out from shared computers
  • Monitor account activity
  • Notify Tailors Book of suspected unauthorised access

5. Fair Use

You must use Tailors Book in a manner that does not unnecessarily:

  • Consume excessive system resources
  • Degrade service for other users
  • Interfere with platform performance
  • Abuse APIs or automated systems
  • Circumvent technical limitations

We may introduce reasonable technical limits to protect the availability and security of the service.

6. Security Testing

You must not perform penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, automated security testing or other security assessments against Tailors Book infrastructure without prior written authorisation.

7. Reporting Abuse

8. Enforcement

If we reasonably believe that an account is being used in violation of this policy, we may take appropriate action, including:

  • Issuing a warning
  • Requesting corrective action

  • Terminating an account
  • Blocking abusive activity
  • Preserving relevant information where legally required
  • Reporting suspected unlawful activity to appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law

We will seek to act proportionately and in accordance with applicable law.

9. No Circumvention

If your account is suspended or terminated, you must not create another account or use another person's account to circumvent the restriction unless expressly authorised by Tailors Book.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy as the platform, technology, threats or legal requirements change.

The latest version will be published on the Tailors Book website.
